OOTD

I thought I'd take a shot at doing at OOTD! I failed at photography rule number one and took them with the sun shining on me from the wrong angle but hey, it's my first proper one so I'm sure I can be forgiven! I tried to take these on a timer but couldn't find a flat surface, so managed to convince Ben to take them for me. He recently told me he reads my blog and gets an email through Google+ whenever I post.. aww! Anyway...

Top - Primark
Skirt - H&M
Jacket - Lindex (bought in Sweden)
Shoes - Juju*
Necklace - eBay

Whether I'll do any more OOTDs is yet to be decided!

Will it Matter in a Year?

Legal and General are holding a competition to win an iPad Mini!
All you have to do is write a blog post explaining what you would say to your younger self.

I used to be the biggest worrier. I'm not saying I don't worry about things now, everybody worries, but I tend to worry a lot less than I used to as a teen. Worrying about small things would make me really stressed and sometimes made me lose sleep.

I read a quote about 3 years ago which really stuck with me. I'm sure it was famously said by someone but honestly I don't know who by if it was.
If I could say these words to myself during upper school, I think I would have had a better time at school. 'WILL IT MATTER IN A YEAR?'. If you have any friends who are massive worriers, please tell them to ask themselves 'will it matter in a year, hey, even a week, a day?' when they start to worry about something small. It really has helped me over the last few years.

I'm not saying I'm completely cured of worrying! Even now sometimes, I will say something, or do something and start to build up a long story in my head of 'what could happen if'. Saying those words to myself makes me stop worrying about nothing and makes me feel a lot better. This may sound really silly to some, but if you are someone who worries about small things, then you will understand. I think these words will make a lot of sense to you and hopefully help you the next time you are worrying about something small and letting it get to you.

MU London White Chocolate Truffle Moisturiser Review

MU London Organic White Chocolate Truffle Moisturiser 60ml - £15
I apologise for the wrinkled label; I keep it in my bathroom so it gets steamy!

I recently came across MU London via my sister Amber, who bought the Organic White Chocolate Elbow, Knee and Heel Cream. When she received it, it smelled amazing and I knew I had to buy some. I decided to go for the Organic White Chocolate Truffle Face Moisturiser. I've found many products that are meant to smell of chocolate don't but this one really does. It's creamy and chocolatey and has a thick consistency so a little goes a long way. It melts into the skin and you only need a tiny amount. I've been using it at night after taking off my make up and cleansing and it leaves my skin so soft and smelling amazing. I also use it in the morning before applying my make up. I find it's best to use when the skin is still a little bit wet and melts easier on your fingertips if your hands are warm.

I have oily/combination skin, however this moisturiser is meant for dry skin. Even though it felt strange in the beginning to be putting something so thick onto my oily skin, I have gotten used to it and it really has done great things for my skin.

The moisturiser is described as "Delicious, decadent Organic White Chocolate Truffle face moisturiser. Indulge your skin and your senses in this luxury spread for your face and your body.
Contains organic Shea Butter and Jojoba Oil and rich, yummy & fragrant extracts of Cocoa and pure Bourbon Vanilla - to spoil, pamper and excite. Added certified organic Rosemary Antioxidant helps replenish and revive the skin. Contains no mineral oils, parabens, silicones, emulsifiers or other man-made chemicals."

My sister Amber writes a green beauty blog and has enlightened me on natural skincare, and now 90% of my favourite skincare products are natural. As you can see above, this moisturiser is made from all natural ingredients which I love.

I would definitely recommend this product and I'll be purchasing again and again.
Have you tried any MU London products?
What do you think of the White Chocolate Truffle Face Moisturiser?

Week in Pictures #2

1. Went to see Divergent at the cinema - such a good film!
2. Painted my nails.
3. Went on a spontaneous trip to Market Harborough with Tanice and got a Starbucks.
4. New candle I bought on our trip.
5. My new flowers were delivered.
6. Don't mind if I do...
7. Buddies breakfast (a diner style restaurant in Northampton)
8. Salted pretzel.
9. New lipstick!

I really like doing these posts, they remind me of all the things I've done in the week that I think I otherwise would have forgotten about.

La Redoute - The Secret to French Style

La Redoute are running a competition to win a wonderful prize to become a brand ambassador! All you have to do is write a blog post telling them what your number one style tip is. Their new 'Secret to French Style' page gives 7 great tips on how to covet the ever so chic French style.

My style tip:
Dress for your shape.

If you have a tiny waist, show it off.
If you have great legs, get them out!

I think it's so important to wear clothes that suit your shape. I'm not saying I always get it right. I sometimes wear a skirt that is that little bit too short or a dress that sits on just the wrong part of my hips, but I try to follow this rule and have gotten to know what suits me over the past couple of years. On the odd occasion I wear said skirt that is too short, I always feel really uncomfortable, which is why I think this tip is so important.

There are lots of trends which I will never get on board with. Crop tops for example. They look amazing on some girls, but just because they are 'in fashion' doesn't mean I should wear them. I'd love to wear a pair of gorgeous printed tailored trousers, but they just don't suit me. Towards the end of last year I managed to collect about 5 pairs of ankle boots. Previously, I had actually hated them (don't hurt me) and thought they looked awful on me. However, I just hadn't found the right pair. All the pairs I had tried on previously had cut off at a part of my legs which just made them look short and stumpy, but after discovering some lovely pairs which cut off right at the smallest part of my ankles, I now have a new found love and my collection is ever growing.

I think my overall tip when dressing is to include the trends that suit you and mix these trends with other classic pieces such as a pair of black jeans or a blazer, ballet flats and accessorize with a gorgeous handbag. You can still wear the trends and look amazing in them, but by mixing with your own personal style and existing wardrobe, you will stand out from the crowd and you will automatically have a unique style without even trying.

I've put together this wishlist of some gorgeous pieces from La Redoute that I know suit my shape.
I've picked all the things that I would normally choose... skater dresses that sit at my waist, low cut ankle boots and a blazer that buttons at the waist. I live in dresses as I feel most comfortable in them and know they suit my shape. I absolutely love these rose gold ballets pumps and of course, what girl doesn't need a gorgeous tan handbag?!

What is your number one style tip?
Do you agree that you should dress for your shape?
